saddle cleaning

To clean the leather you should get a fine cotton cloth, distilled water and saddle soap. Use a damp cloth to remove dust and light dirt from the leather.

Why distilled water? Depending on the region, normal tap water contains more or less lime and different minerals. Both lime and minerals can under certain circumstances highlight stains or color changes in the leather.

Saddle soap should only be used sparingly. Either to remove stubborn dirt from the leather or to remove sweat residue from the horse and/or rider. After cleaning, however, care is very important

saddle care

The saddle is the most important component for the leather. The leather needs a certain greasing to remain supple and flexible. One should avoid that the leather core dries out. And dry leather gets cracks in the surface structure.

For the optimal care of leather you need a mixture of the right ingredients. Oil that penetrates deep into the leather and protects the core of the leather from drying out, and wax that protects the surface structure against environmental influences. With the Cordis Leather Emulsion we have developed a product that combines both components in the right ratio.

Here the core is oiled without leaving any oily residue on the leather.

The wax fractions scprotect the surface without extremely clogging the pores.
